About WorldStat.info


The main aim of Worldstat.info is to visualize various sets of data. The sets we use are common facts that can be applied to any country or territory in the world. To visualize data used flash-based software that uses outline map of the world. This software enables to paint specific areas in different colors in accordance with data values prepared for representing. Using this map you can graphically compare several countries by particular indicator you have choosen.

About the Indicators

First of all it is population information, basic geografical data and some basic economic indicators. All the indicators used at Worldstat.info are represented as relative values to particular area population. Absolute values are not so informative as relative ones, if you are planning to compare several countries. It can be country, territory, continet or the whole world as area specified. However the absolute values are submitted in particular area (the world, a country or a continent) profile.

About the sources of data

List of countries based on ISO 3166 standard, which describes all official names for states and dependent territories and their codes (alpha and numerical).

You can find it at site of International Organization for Standardization: ISO 3166 Maintenance agency

There are 195 countries and about 60 dependent territories in the World. 192 countries are the UN members, Kosovo, Palestinian Authority and Taiwan are partially-recognised countries. At Worldstat.info you can find information about all the countries and 30 territories. Remaining territories are either do not have any local governance or do not have permanent residents. To recognise the status of area, the names of areas that do not have status of state marked with italic font.
